Very predictable result when second ranked Okinawa GK (34-7) smashed at home 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (11-30) 84-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Takamatsu FA was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Okinawa GK made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side American swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Okinawa GK maintains second place with 34-7 record having just -1 point less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Loser Takamatsu FA dropped to the ninth position with 30 games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Takamatsu FA (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
