Regular Season Round 18: Segle XXI - Estudiantes 64-53

Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Segle XXI and 8th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes had identical 7-10 record. This time Segle XXI used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Madrid 64-53 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Segle XXI. ASEFA Estudiantes was better in third quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Segle XXI forced 19 ASEFA Estudiantes turnovers. It was a good game for center Laia Sole (184-98) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Laia Raventos (171-97) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Maria Conde (184-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) added 16 points in the effort for ASEFA Estudiantes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Segle XXI maintains seventh position in Group B with 8-10 record. Loser ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Segle XXI will face Almeria (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against UCAM Jairis (#11) and hope to win that game.
