Dragons overcame visiting Leipzig for the first victory in the eighth-finals. Dragons Rhoendorf made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 USC Leipzig turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragons Rhoendorf made 8 blocks. American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks.
