There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Yokohama BC (11-28) edged at home higher ranked Niigata Albirex (26-15) 80-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 21-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Carl Hall (201-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Masayuki Kabaya (183-82) helped adding 14 points and 7 assists. At the losing side Kimitake Sato (186-84) responded with 27 points and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Yokohama BC maintains tenth place with 11-28 record. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
