Regular Season Round 39: Tsukuba R. - Hiroshima D. 70-71

Seventh-ranked Tsukuba R. (3-37) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Dragonflies (17-22). The visitors from Hiroshima managed to secure only one-point victory 71-70. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tsukuba R. won fourth quarter 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85, agency: APAA Sports Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: APAA Sports Group) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Dragonflies' coach Sako Kenichi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Shota Isshiki (177-87) scored 17 points. Newly promoted Dragonflies maintains third place with 17-22 record having sixteen points less than leader Hitachi SR. Tsukuba R. lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 37 games lost. Dragonflies will play against league's second-placed Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play against Wakayama T. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
