Regular Season Round 24: GKS Tychy - Znicz Basket 80-64

An interesting game took place in Tychy where higher ranked Znicz Basket (14-10) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked GKS Tychy (9-15) 80-64. The game was mostly controlled by GKS Tychy. Znicz Basket was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Znicz Basket to just 7 points in fourth quarter. It was a good game for power forward Tomasz Bzdyra (200-83) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Marcin Kowalewski (200-86, agency: Promotex) replied with 19 points and power forward Adam Linowski (201-87, agency: Promotex) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Znicz Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. GKS Tychy moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Znicz Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. GKS Tychy's next round opponent will be higher ranked Zaglebie (#6) in Sosnowiec and it may be quite challenging game. Znicz Basket will play at home against AZS PP and hope to win that game.
