Regular Season Round 24: Paris-Levallois - Rouen 83-73

There was no surprise when 14th ranked SPO Rouen (9-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Paris-Levallois (14-10) 83-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Paris-Levallois. SPO Rouen was better in third quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paris-Levallois dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SPO Rouen's 18. They outrebounded SPO Rouen 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Paris-Levallois looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists. Power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Four Paris-Levallois players scored in double figures. Paris-Levallois' coach Gregor Beugnot used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern, agency: APAA Sports Group) who recorded 16 points and 8 assists and guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St.) added 22 points respectively. Paris-Levallois moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nancy. Newly promoted SPO Rouen keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Paris-Levallois will face Gravelines-Dunkerque (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SPO Rouen will play against Le Mans (#9) and hope to win that game.
