Eighth ranked Kolossos won an overtime thriller edging higher ranked Aris by one point 78-77 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aris. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 20-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-7. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Antiguan-American forward Ernest Scott (201-82, college: Valdosta St.) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Cypriot-Bulgarian Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-95) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Bosnian guard Muhamed Pasalic (192-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kolossos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with AGOR. Aris at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Kolossos will face higher ranked AEK Athens (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aris will play against Panionios and hope to win that game.
