Regular Season Round 24: St Quentin - Antibes 80-87

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Saint-Quentin (10-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Olympique Antibes (15-9) 87-80 on Saturday. Saint-Quentin was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 33-21 charge of Olympique Antibes, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Willie Solomon (187-78, college: Clemson, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and the other American import Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American Anthony Smith (196-86, college: Liberty) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Olympique Antibes and five Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. Olympique Antibes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Roanne. Saint-Quentin lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Poitiers. Olympique Antibes will meet at home Orchesien BC (#6) in the next round. Saint-Quentin will play against Nantes (#9) and hope to secure a win.
