Regular Season Round 23: MKS DG - Polpharma 94-93

A very interesting game took place in Dabrowa Gornicza. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 16th ranked Polpharma (5-18) to twelfth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (8-15) 94-93 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Polpharma took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then MKS Dabrowa Gornicza took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. They also forced 20 Polpharma turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. Myles McKay (193-86, college: Wisc.-Whitewater) saved the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Point guard Ken Brown (180-89, college: Philander Smith, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. McKay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza's coach Wojciech Wieczorek allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Jessie Sapp (188-86, college: Georgetown) answered with 21 points and 8 assists and point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Polpharma. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted MKS Dabrowa Gornicza maintains twelfth place with 8-15 record. Polpharma lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza's next round opponent will be league's second-placed PGE Turow in Zgorzelec and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play at home against Slask (#5) and hope to win that game.
