Very expected game when 11th ranked Universitario de Ferrol (7-15) was smashed at home by seventh ranked Rivas Ecopolis (11-11) 78-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rivas Ecopolis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a very good performance for guard Gabriela Ocete (170-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 assists. American forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Rivas Ecopolis players scored in double figures. Rivas Ecopolis' coach Jose Ignacio Hernandez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Denesha Stallworth (190-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Universitario de Ferrol. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 11-11 record. Universitario de Ferrol lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Rivas Ecopolis will face league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Universitario de Ferrol will play on the road against Gernika (#6) and hope to win that game.
