Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kvarner (12-7) against tenth ranked KK Split (7-12) on Saturday night. Visiting Kvarner was defeated by KK Split in Split 92-79. The game was mostly controlled by KK Split. Kvarner was better in fourth quarter 30-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Split shot 64.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for KK Split especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Guard Josip Glavinic (192-82) nailed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and center Ante Djugum (211-88, agency: Court Side) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Swingman Dino Stipcic (195-89) came up with 16 points and 5 assists and forward Dino Cinac (201-88, agency: Court Side) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Kvarner in the defeat. Five KK Split and four Kvarner players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KK Split moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gorica and Osijek. Kvarner at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. KK Split will play against bottom-ranked Slavonski Brod (#11) on the road in the next round. Kvarner will play against Vrijednosnice OS (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
