There was no surprise in Quaregnon where Okapi Aalstar (12-10) was defeated by Belfius Mons-Hainaut (14-8) 79-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-73. The game was dominated by American players. Austin Nichols (200-82, college: Humboldt St.) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Mike Smith (198-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Taylor Braun (201-91, college: N.Dakota St.) responded with 21 points and point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) scored 20 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line).
