Eighth-ranked Aishin Wings (11-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked Denso Iris (24-6) in Anjo. The visitors from Kariya managed to secure only nine-point victory 83-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Aishin Wings were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they could not keep up in double-overtime eventually losing that period 10-10. Denso Iris made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Aishin Wings helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Yuri Ushida (181-89) supported her with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Denso Iris' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Yuka Maeda (173-84) did not help to save the game for Aishin Wings. The former international swingman Tanaka Masaki (171-88) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Four Aishin Wings players scored in double figures. They have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Denso Iris maintains second position with 24-6 record having just two points less than leader JX-Eneos S., which they share with Fujitsu RW. Aishin Wings at the other side keep the eighth place with 19 games lost.
