Leader Unicaja Malaga delivered the twentieth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Valencia Basket (13-11) 89-85. Unicaja Malaga made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Valencia Basket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Uruguayan-Italian point guard Jayson Granger (188-89) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Carlos Suarez (203-86, agency: Court Side) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Belgian point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86) replied with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Central African swingman Romain Sato (195-81, college: Xavier) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Valencia Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga maintains first position with 20-4 record, which they share with Real Madrid. Valencia Basket at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Laboral Kutxa and CAI Zaragoza. Unicaja Malaga will play against CB Canarias (#10) in Tenerife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valencia Basket will play at home against Regal FC Barcelona (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
