Leader Maccabi T-A delivered the twenty first victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Hapoel Eilat (10-13) 86-68 in Tel-Aviv. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Eilat was better in fourth quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi T-A made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Brian Randle (203-85) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. International Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hapoel Eilat's coach Arik Shivek tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi T-A (21-2) have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Hapoel Eilat lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Maccabi T-A will face league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Eilat will play against Galil Gilboa (#12) and hope to win that game.
