Regular Season Round 39: Toyota Alvark - Hyogo S. 81-76

An interesting game for Toyota Alvark (26-14) which hosted in Tokyo 4th placed Hyogo S. (14-24). Fourth ranked Toyota Alvark managed to get a 5-point victory 81-76. It looked good early as Hyogo S. took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toyota Alvark took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They also forced 20 Hyogo S. turnovers. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Toyota Alvark's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. They maintain fourth place with 26-14 record which they share with defeated Hyogo S. Hyogo S. lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 24 games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round. Hyogo S. will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers (#1) and hope to win that game.
