Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Gunma (15-25) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (28-14) 87-72 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 49-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sendai 89ers made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Worth to mention Davis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) produced 21 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and power forward Daniel Northern (206-85, college: Tenn Tech, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Gunma's coach Charlie Parker let to play ten players saving starting five for next games. Sendai 89ers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 28-14 record. Gunma lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 25 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Yokohama BC (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Gunma will play against Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
