Regular Season Round 39: Tsukuba R. - Hiroshima D. 60-87

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Dragonflies (17-22) crushed on the road 7th ranked Tsukuba R. (3-37) 87-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Dragonflies. Tsukuba R. was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsukuba R. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas, agency: APAA Sports Group) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Senegalese center Pape Faye (200-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. American power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tsukuba R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Dragonflies maintains third place with 17-22 record having sixteen points less than leader Hitachi SR. Tsukuba R. lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 37 games lost. Dragonflies will face league's second-placed Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play against Wakayama T. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
