There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-31) defeated on the road 8th ranked Bambitious Nara (12-30) 73-67 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 42-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) produced 29 points and power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 14 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Takamatsu FA. Loser Bambitious Nara keeps the eighth position with 30 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
