Rather expected game in Kopavogur where 8th ranked Thor AK (1-16) was defeated by sixth ranked Breidablik (7-12) 77-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. Breidablik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Breidablik made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Runar Ingi Erlingsson (187-89) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American Jerry Hollis (198-87, college: Johnson C. Smith, agency: Sherman International) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Four Breidablik players scored in double figures. Breidablik's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Einar Eyjolfsson (178-94) added 3 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Breidablik maintains sixth position with 7-12 record. Thor AK lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Breidablik will meet at home higher ranked Valur (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Thor AK will play against FSU (#3) and hope to win that game.
