Leader Marinos delivered the twelfth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Gigantes (5-9) 90-69 in Puerto La Cruz. The game was mostly controlled by Marinos. Gigantes managed to win second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marinos dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 38 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Marinos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marinos (12-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Gigantes lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Marinos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gigantes will play against the league's second-placed Bucaneros (#2) and hope to secure a win.
