Regular Season Round 24: SKK Siedlce - Zaglebie 83-78

An interesting game took place in Siedlce where higher ranked Zaglebie (13-11) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked SKK Siedlce (7-17) 83-78 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-17. But Zaglebie won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zaglebie 46-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Karol Debski (198-84, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Kamil Michalski (182-87, agency: Promotex) chipped in 19 points. SKK Siedlce's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Marek Piechowicz (201-88) who recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Michal Sadlo (205-94) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. Newly promoted SKK Siedlce maintains thirteenth position with 7-17 record. Zaglebie at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Spojnia. SKK Siedlce will meet league's second-placed Sokol Lancut on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zaglebie will play against GKS Tychy (#10) and hope to secure a win.
