An interesting game was played in Rishon Le-Zion where Bnei Hasharon (#8) rolled over host Maccabi Rishon (#5) with 20-point difference 98-78 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Bnei Hasharon. Maccabi Rishon managed to win fourth quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnei Hasharon dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Rishon's 40. They outrebounded Maccabi Rishon 37-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bnei Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. American power forward Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St.) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import Dominique Johnson (196-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) scored 16 points. Maccabi Rishon's coach Sharon Drucker rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Bnei Hasharon (10-13) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Maccabi Rishon dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hapoel T-A. Bnei Hasharon will meet at home higher ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Rishon will play against Maccabi Haifa and hope to secure a win.
