Second Stage Round 4: Moutahed - UBA 76-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tripoli. Second ranked UBA faced one of their biggest challengers Al Moutahed. Guests from Byblos (11-7) defeated host Al Moutahed (7-11) 85-76. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. UBA outrebounded Al Moutahed 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international power forward Ali Kanaan (207-85, college: Mass.-Lowell) who added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Four UBA players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. UBA maintains second position in A with 11-7 record having six points less than leader Al Riyadi. Loser Al Moutahed keeps the third place with 11 games lost. UBA will meet at home Homenetm. B (#4) in the next round. Al Moutahed will play against the league's leader Al Riyadi in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
