Very expected game when 7th ranked Rivas Ecopolis (11-12) was defeated at home by first ranked Perfumerias Avenida (21-2) 71-65 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Perfumerias Avenida led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Perfumerias Avenida forced 19 Rivas Ecopolis turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) helped adding 8 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Lady Comfort (188-86, college: Temple, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rivas Ecopolis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-2 record. Defending champion Rivas Ecopolis keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will face Gernika (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rivas Ecopolis will play against Socinsa Bembibre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
