Everything went according to plan in Zamora where fifth ranked Socinsa Bembibre (13-10) beat 8th ranked Zamarat (9-14) 58-51 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-10. But Zamarat won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Latvian forward Dita Liepkalne (185-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Anna Gomez (179-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Portuguese center Sofia Silva (187-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-90, college: Colorado St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Socinsa Bembibre maintains fifth place with 13-10 record. Loser Zamarat keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Socinsa Bembibre will face Rivas Ecopolis (#7) at home in the next round. Zamarat will play against Mann Filter in Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
