Regular Season Round 28: S.Jose/Unimed - Liga Sorocaba 91-72

Date: March 19, 2015
No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (11-15) crushed at home bottom-ranked Liga Sorocaba (6-22) 91-72 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 54-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sao Jose/Vinac looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (193-80, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Andre Laws (188-80, college: San Diego) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. American guard Worrel Clahar (180, college: De Paul) replied with 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Thiago Carneiro (191-91, college: Colorado NW CC) added 13 points in the effort for Liga Sorocaba. Four Liga Sorocaba players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Jose/Vinac maintains eleventh position with 11-15 record. Liga Sorocaba lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Sao Jose/Vinac will face higher ranked Flamengo (#4) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Liga Sorocaba will play at home against Brasilia (#9) and hope to win that game.
