Eighth-ranked Thor AK (1-20) made lots of trouble for third ranked FSU (13-8) in Akureyri on Friday. The visitors from Selfoss managed to secure only two-point victory 97-95. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 2 points. FSU made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) chipped in 30 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Vic Ian Damasin (179-92) scored 23 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FSU maintains third place with 13-8 record having just three points less than leader Hottur, which they share with Valur and IA. Thor AK lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
