Regular Season Round 28: Pinheiros/Sky - Vivo/Franca 87-67

The game in Sao Paolo supposed to be also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Vivo/Franca (13-14) played at the court of eighth ranked Pinheiros (13-13). Pinheiros did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 87-67. The game was mostly controlled by Pinheiros. Vivo/Franca was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pinheiros shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Joe Smith (193-77, college: Al.-Huntsville) who added 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach Marcel de Souza allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Pinheiros moved-up to seventh place. Vivo/Franca lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. Pinheiros will play against league's leader Paschoalotto/Bauru at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vivo/Franca will play against Sao Jose/Vinac (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
