Regular Season Round 25: Boulazac - Lille 61-60

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Boulazac Basket (18-8) edged at home 14th ranked Lille Metropole (10-16) 61-60 on Friday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a very good performance for Meredis Houmounou (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 11 points. Point guard Xavier Gaillou (192-89) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) answered with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard B.A. Walker (188-84, college: VCU) added 12 points in the effort for Lille Metropole. Boulazac Basket maintains third place with 18-8 record having just -2 point less than leader Monaco. Lille Metropole at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Boulazac Basket will face Orchesien BC (#7) in Orchies in the next round. Lille Metropole will play at home against Souffelweyersheim (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
