There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-17) beat at home 13th ranked Poitiers (10-15) 81-68 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists. Kevin Dinal (202-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Carl Ona-Embo (185-89) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Poitiers. Souffelweyersheim maintains sixteenth place with 8-17 record, which they share with Maurienne. Poitiers at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face higher ranked Lille Metropole (#14) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
