Regular Season Round 24: Rosa Radom - AZS Koszalin 81-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Radom. Third ranked AZS Koszalin faced one of their biggest challengers Rosa. Guests from Koszalin (18-6) defeated host Rosa (16-8) 85-81. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Ivan Radenovic (209-84, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. American center John Turek (205-83, college: Nebraska) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) added 19 points in the effort for Rosa. Rosa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AZS Koszalin maintains third position with 18-6 record behind leader Stelmet ZG. Rosa at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Slask Wroclaw. AZS Koszalin will play against bottom-ranked Polpharma (#16) in Starogard in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rosa will play on the road against Asseco (#7) in Gdynia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
