Regular Season Round 21: Cocodrilos - Marinos 59-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Caracas. Second-best host Cocodrilos (11-5) lost to first ranked Marinos (13-3) 68-59. Cocodrilos were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Marinos, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was forward Marcus Melvin (206-82, college: N.Carolina St.) who scored 27 points. Center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) who recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Walter Sharpe (206-86, college: UAB) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-3 record. Loser Cocodrilos keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Bucaneros. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
