Regular Season Round 26: Clinicas Rincon - Palma 90-71

Date: March 21, 2015
Bottom-ranked Clinicas Rincon managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Palma in Malaga 90-71. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference proves that Clinicas Rincon was well-prepared to that game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Palma. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-71. Clinicas Rincon outrebounded Palma 46-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Romaric Benemene (202-97) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Clinicas Rincon players scored in double figures. Italian guard Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic) responded with 18 points and center Mario Cabanas (207-85) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Clinicas Rincon (5-19) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Prat. Newly promoted Palma keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Clinicas Rincon will meet bottom-ranked CB Prat (#15) on the road in the next round. Palma will play against Ourense (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
