Regular Season Round 21: Nice - Pays d'Aix 72-66

LF2 top team - Nice (18-3) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Pays d'Aix (12-9) 72-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pays d'Aix. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-10. But Pays d'Aix won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Pays d'Aix 44-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Guard Isabelle Strunc (180-91) stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Nice players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Shante Evans (184-91, college: Hofstra) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Emilie Silbande (178-81) scored 14 points. Nice have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Pays d'Aix at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Nice are looking forward to face bottom-ranked CFBB (#13) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pays d'Aix will play at home against Aulnoye (#11) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
