Regular Season Round 27: Haukar - Hamar 86-44

Fourth ranked Haukar (15-9) crushed at home 6th ranked Hamar (6-19) by 42 points 86-44, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Hamar was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hamar to just 6 points in first quarter. Haukar held Hamar to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Haukar forced 22 Hamar turnovers and outrebounded them 53-34 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hamar's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 25 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals. Dyrfinna Arnardottir helped adding 13 points. The best for the losing side was American swingman Sydnei Moss (178-88, college: Co.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Thorunn Bjarnadottir (171-80) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 15-9 record. Loser Hamar keeps the sixth position with 19 games lost. Haukar will face bottom-ranked Breidablik (#8) in the next round. Hamar will play against KR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
