Regular Season Round 27: KR - Grindavik 57-59

Date: March 21, 2015
Seventh-ranked KR (4-21) gave a tough game to third ranked Grindavik (16-8) in Reykjavik. The visitors from Grindavik managed to secure only two-point victory 59-57. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won fourth quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Kristina King (178, college: Richmond) who led the winners and scored 23 points. The former international guard Ingibjorg Jakobsdottir (177-90) accounted for 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Simone Holmes came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and Holton Tomasdottir Bergthora added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for KR in the defeat. Grindavik maintains third place with 16-8 record having seven points less than leader Snaefell. KR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 21 games lost. Grindavik will play against league's leader Snaefell in Stykkisholmur in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KR will play on the road against Hamar (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
