AV Cantu (#8) forced the game against Enel Brindisi (#6) into an overtime, but lost by one point 75-76 on Sunday night. The hosts were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 9-8. Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) contributed with 9 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for AV Cantu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Enel Brindisi maintains sixth place with 13-10 record. AV Cantu at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Enel Brindisi will face higher ranked Cimberio Varese on the road in the next round. AV Cantu will play against Tuscany Pistoia (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
