Second Stage Round 6: Wisla Krakow - Asseco II 69-68

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Wisla Krakow (2-10) edged at home 6th ranked Asseco II (7-7) 69-68 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asseco II won third quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asseco II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Przemyslaw Urbanek (197-89) who scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Rafal Zglobicki (196-94) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Daniel Grujic (201-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and naturalized Chilean forward Christopher Paredes (194-90, college: Simon Fraser) added 28 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Wisla Krakow maintains ninth position in Group E with 2-10 record. Asseco II lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Wisla Krakow will face again higher ranked Asseco II (#6) in Gdynia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
