Second Stage Round 5: UBA - Homenetm. B 79-80

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Division A took place in Byblos. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked UBA (11-8) to fourth ranked Homenetm. B (6-13) 80-79 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Homenetm. B dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UBA's 20. American point guard Dion Dixon (190-89, college: Cincinnati) saved the victory by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Ali Kanaan (207-85, college: Mass.-Lowell) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 20 rebounds and American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) added 19 points in the effort for UBA. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Homenetm. B maintains fourth place in A with 6-13 record. UBA at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Homenetm. B are looking forward to face higher ranked Al Moutahed (#3) in Tripoli in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBA will play at home against the league's leader Al Riyadi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
