Second Stage Round 5: Sagesse - Tadamon 93-83

Date: March 24, 2015
An interesting game for Sagesse (14-5) which hosted in Beirut 3rd placed Tadamon (8-11). First ranked Sagesse managed to get a 10-point victory 93-83. The game was mostly controlled by Sagesse. Tadamon was better in third quarter 31-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Tadamon outrebounded Sagesse 45-33 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who scored 32 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Australian power forward Julian Khazzouh (209-86) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international power forward Garnett Thompson (206-80, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Tarek Ammoury (196-90, college: Marymount) added 12 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sagesse maintains first place in A with 14-5 record. Tadamon at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Sagesse's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Champville in Dik El Mehdi and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tadamon will play on the road against Hoops Club in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
