Regular Season Round 26: Le Mans - Nanterre 63-81

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Le Mans (13-13) was defeated at home by second ranked JSF Nanterre (21-5) 81-63 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by JSF Nanterre. Le Mans was better in third quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Le Mans to just 7 points in fourth quarter. JSF Nanterre shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American Jamal Shuler (191-86) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. JSF Nanterre's coach Pascal Donadieu used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (206-90, college: Villanova) responded with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Polish power forward Michal Ignerski (207-80, college: Mississippi St.) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. JSF Nanterre have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record behind leader Strasbourg. Loser Le Mans dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. JSF Nanterre will face Chalons-Reims (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
