Regular Season Round 28: Hamar - KR 64-81

Date: March 25, 2015
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked KR (5-21) defeated on the road 6th ranked Hamar (6-20) 81-64. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Hamar was better in second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-23 charity shots (95.7 percent) during the game. KR outrebounded Hamar 39-26 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Simone Holmes who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (made all of her seven free throws). The former international forward Helga Einarsdottir (186-88) contributed with 9 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Sydnei Moss (178-88, college: Co.Carolina) replied with 30 points and 6 rebounds and forward Thorunn Bjarnadottir (171-80) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hamar. Hamar's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. KR maintains seventh position with 5-21 record. Hamar at the other side keeps the sixth place with 20 games lost. KR will play against bottom-ranked Breidablik (#8) in the next round. Hamar will play against the league's leader Snaefell having rather not much hope for a victory.
