An interesting game for Al Riyadi (18-1) which hosted in Beirut 3rd placed Al Moutahed (7-12). First ranked Al Riyadi managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-78. American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) accounted for 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) came up with 40 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Al Moutahed in the defeat. Al Riyadi have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place in A with 18-1 record. Loser Al Moutahed keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Al Riyadi will meet league's second-placed UBA in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Moutahed will play against Homenetm. B in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
