Second Stage Round 4: Aalstar - Antwerp 102-93

The most important game in the last round took place in Aalst between second ranked Antwerp Giants (14-9) and sixth ranked Okapi Aalstar (13-11) on Wednesday night. Antwerp Giants were defeated by Okapi Aalstar in a tough game on the road 93-102. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 56-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Okapi Aalstar made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Antwerp Giants helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) who added 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) responded with 41 points (!!!) and guard DeAndre Kane (193-89, college: Iowa St.) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okapi Aalstar moved-up to fifth place in League. Antwerp Giants at the other side dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Okapi Aalstar are looking forward to face Spirou Charleroi (#6) on the road in the next round. Antwerp Giants will play against the league's leader Oostende and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
