Regular Season Round 27: Givova Napoli - Fileni BPA Jesi 76-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi's (6-19) road loss to thirteenth ranked Givova Napoli (10-15) 74-76 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-74. Strangely Fileni BPA Jesi outrebounded Givova Napoli 40-21 including a 23-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Givova Napoli especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international Matteo Malaventura (197-78) helped adding 24 points. Four Givova Napoli players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Mason Rocca (204-77, college: Princeton) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Givova Napoli moved-up to twelfth place. Fileni BPA Jesi lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Givova Napoli will face league's second-placed C.de Latte BRE in Brescia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fileni BPA Jesi will play at home against Lighthouse TR (#11) and hope to win that game.
