No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Cadi La Seu (17-8) beat 10th ranked Gran Canaria (8-17) in Seu D'urgell 79-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Cadi La Seu. Gran Canaria managed to win fourth quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cadi La Seu made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Cadi La Seu outrebounded Gran Canaria 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Dutch forward Marlou De Kleijn (182-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) nailed 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and international center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) came up with 18 points and the former international forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 10 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) respectively for Gran Canaria in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cadi La Seu maintains fourth place with 17-8 record. Loser Gran Canaria dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Cadi La Seu will meet Al-Qazeres (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Zamarat and hope to secure a win.
