Regular Season Round 25: Trieste - Vigarano 51-67

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Vigarano (9-15) won against on the road 13th ranked Trieste (1-23) 67-51. It looked good early as Trieste took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vigarano had a 19-12 second period charge getting the lead and Trieste was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-67. They outrebounded Trieste 52-41 including 39 on the defensive glass. Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 35 rebounds for the winners and international Martina Bestagno (189-90) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Hungarian forward Anna Vida (185-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Donica Cosby (172-88, college: Oklahoma City, agency: Two Points) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted Vigarano maintains tenth place with 9-15 record. Trieste lost their twenty second game in a row. Trieste at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 23 games lost. Vigarano will play against higher ranked Cagliari CUS (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trieste will play against the league's second-placed Ragusa (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
