Eleventh-ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (5-38) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (31-14) on Friday. The visitors from Sendai managed to secure only six-point victory 118-112. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 26-23 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 0-point victory in double-overtime. Sendai 89ers made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Tokyo Cinq R. turnovers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Toyama Grouses. Tokyo Cinq R. lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 38 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play again at home against Sendai 89ers (#3) and hope to win that game.
